A workshop at the intermediate to advanced level will be presented by the Croatian virtuoso Dubravko Lapaine. In just a few years Dubravko has taken place as on of the most creative and interesting didge players in Europe. He specialises in particular in playing very low didges and in a technique known as parallel playing which has recently received a great amount of attention and elaboration in the eastern part of Europe. During the workshop Dubravko will concentrate in particular on teaching parallel playing and some other advanced techniques.

Un workshop al livello intermedio-avanzato verra' presentato dal virtuoso Dubravko Lapaine dalla Croazia. In solo pochi anni Dubravko e' diventato molto conosciuto come maestro di didgeridoo di grande creativita' e musicalita' al livello internazionale. Ha dedicato il suo tempo in particolare ai strumenti lunghi e l'interazione tra suoni percussivi, note basse, note alte e voce per creare l'illusione di sentire piu' di uno strumento suonare – una tecnica che si chiama parallel playing. Nel workshop Dubravko concentrera' sul insegnamento di questa e altre tecniche avanzate.

The opendidge is a new extension of the didgeridoo to a class of instruments with multiple tubes diverging from a common mouthpiece. Designed originally to be amplified they can also make beautifully harmonic acoustic instruments. The instrument has a sound which is very didgeridoo-like but the precise timbric qualities and notes produced can be modified by using different arrangements of tube lengths that can be chosen using a system of valves and finger holes. In this workshop the basic acoustic principles behind the opendidge will be explained in simple language and many examples of different configurations will be played to provide pratical examples of the theoretical basis. A considerable amount of time will be spent on the two principle variations of the opendidge. The Harmonic Opendidge and the Electric Medusa. The Electric Medusa is also particularly suited to playing notes in the low register and some time will be spent on this aspect of the instrument. At the end of the course participants will have the possibility of acquiring an opendidge tuned as desired.

Each course is limited to 20 participants and they will take place only if there is a minimum of 6 participants.

Un nuovo estensione del didgeridoo ad includere strumenti con tubi multipli che emergono da un bocchino in comune. Originariamente progettato per essere amplificato fanno anche dei strumenti acustici che possiedono un bellissimo suono armonico. Il suono prodotto dell'opendidge e' molto simile a quello di un didgeridoo ma il timbro e nota preciso puo' essere modificato utilizzando tubi di varie lunghezze con una sistema di buchi e valvole per potere scegliere nota e timbro. In questo workshop veranno spiegati i basi acustici del opendidge e questo verra' spiegato in modo intuitivo con tanti esempi di strumenti presentati e suonati per illustrare le loro qualita'. Una parte importante del workshop sara' dedicato alle due variazioni principali del opendidge. L'opendidge armonico e l'Electric Medusa. L'Electric Medusa e' particolarmente addatta a suonare delle note nel registro basso e tempo sara' dedicato per spiegare e dimostrare questa caratteristica. Al conclusione del workshop i partecipanti avranno la possibilita' di acquistare un'opendidge con accordatura come desiderano.

Per ciascun dei due corsi i posti sono limitati a 20 partecipanti e avranno luogo solamente se ci sono un minimo di 6 partecipanti.
